Your work with shaders is just so nice. The way the skybox looks with the clouds and the minimal lighting is great.

I'll admit I had to start the game a few time because I didn't see the elixer and thought I took a wrong turn. I also ended the game before checking the fence and well... its all good it was still a delight to walk back through and get those bats I missed lol

after loving city of piss so much and seeing you mention this game as it's prequel, i had to check it out. im so glad i did. in this game as well as the other, you manage to capture something so peculiar yet so familiar. like a memory you have thats so odd you cant quite tell if it was from a dream or something that actually happened. i think through your references to other media associated to childhood like cartoons or video games in city of piss (and i guess in monomyth they might be more subtle but i feel like one of the floating evil bats references final fantasy) as well as the themes and emotions that the games evoke (which i interpreted as homesickness, maybe nostalgia, self acceptance (i might be projecting)) you manage to reach that very personal part of our (my) brains. the sort of weirdness inherent to both universes are to me due to lack of a definite storyline or "path" (which i dont think is a bad thing at all) that is very reminescent of the way dreams are narrated. this game is like a dream! if i wanted to find something burried inside myself then i could spend a few hours analyzing it, but i could also enjoy the funny and goofy dialogue and have a good laugh. love your work so much and i am so eager to see more, you have a hardcore fan right here!!

Wow!!! I'm really floored by the kindness here :)
Monomyth is definitely less explicitly "plunder-y" with stolen models and such, but you're right to pick that every bat has some kind of reference in their dialogue (mostly to one piece lol). The final fantasy one is moreso a reference to a friend of mine with a very iconic laugh and a love of tifa hahahaha.

I think the dreamy vibes and use of recogniseable imagery, especially in city of piss, do a lot to help the player buy in and enter that sort of mildly suggestive state that you might get when you're very sleepy or high or something, and it definitely seems like the emotional core of these two games have hit folks way harder than anything else I've made as a result. It's not uncommon for people to find something in it that I can't find myself, especially in Monomyth (I got invited to talk about it for an indie games festival, and god was the impostor syndrome killing me at the time), which I find absolutely beautiful.

I appreciate your support so, so much, and I really hope you continue to enjoy my stuff! I've no intention of stopping.

PS: you're not projecting at all about the self acceptance thing! I mean, in case you didn't notice, my itch name isn't the same today as it was when you last commented :] I may be particularly interested in themes of the self at the moment for... reasons....

HA!!! thats crazy!! i didnt even notice! i actually started socially transitionning very recntly (not even a week ago) and today i changed a few of my usernames as well haha! but anyway, keep up the good work and good luck on all of your journeys :)

YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WINNING!!!!!! I hope you're having a wonderful time!

I loved playing this game. I saw it featured in an older YouTube lets-play and stopped immediately so I could experience it myself. The combination of music, shaders, and extremely evocative skybox work so well to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for a small and reflective adventure. Thanks so much for making and sharing this!

Thank you for the thoughtful and kind comment! Glad you got something out of it. :)

couldn't help but notice that the graphics are good

:)

Had a blast playing this one. Just a gorgeous game all the way through. We decided it would be even better while high.

Hello! I've really enjoyed playing Monomyth! I liked the feeling of running to the end of the adventure all at once, and the music that matched it. And the best part was the graphics, the monochromatic GameBoy like world and the beautiful 3D world that contradicted it somehow just felt beautiful and impressed me!

I am not a resident of an English-speaking country, so this text was written using machine translation. And I also made a video of the play and used the English translation as subtitles.

A funny little adventure game! :)

Hello! I recently completed a review of your game for my Youtube series “The First 15”! I’ve placed a link to the video down below...as I said in the video it looks interesting and was a fun little diversion, but it's not immediately clear if I was doing something "wrong" or that was the whole experience...either way, don't stop making games! <3

Awesome game and visuals.

Thanks for checking out my game!

Amazing relaxing game dev

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed. It was very fun seeing you react to the bouncy water :)

Hi, hey I played this game and also made a video on it. I like watching let's plays of my itch games so that's why I made one of yours. I'll put a link in the description too. If you don't want the video on YouTube just let me know and I'll take it down though. Anyways it was a good game I like the artstyle and the graphics of course. Very cool dithering art. My favourite-part of the game was the clouds design, really aesthetic. On the second-run the game didn't notice I fell off the road and it let me fall back to the ground and IDK if that was intentional lol.

Thank you for checking out the game! Admittedly, I knew that was an issue, but I thought the safe area was big enough that nobody would fall off unless they really tried to xP. Perhaps we have an update coming
